Meet Mr. Joe the Balloon Guy
Mr. Joe has been entertaining people for almost as long as he can remember.
It started with magic at just five years old. Balloon twisting came shortly after, and like so many balloon artists, it all began with a dog. Then came the sword. Then the giraffe.
But Mr. Joe didn’t stop there.
Before long, those simple balloon animals turned into Looney Tunes characters, elaborate sculptures, and eventually creations as big as 60-foot balloon dragons.
Today, Mr. Joe the Balloon Guy is a seasoned professional entertainer and balloon artist who has spent years creating smiles throughout Cleveland, Northeast Ohio and beyond. His combination of balloon artistry, personality and entertainment has made him a popular addition to corporate events, company parties, community celebrations, festivals, fairs, school events, private events and more.
For more than 18 years, Mr. Joe has been featured as part of FOX 8’s Turkey Bowl, a long-running Northeast Ohio Thanksgiving tradition.
Baseball fans may recognize him, too. Mr. Joe can frequently be found entertaining at Kids Fun Days at Progressive Field with the Cleveland Guardians, creating balloons for fans and players alike.
Behind the balloons is a lifetime of experience in the entertainment industry, including magic, live entertainment, event production, directing and event management. That experience gives Mr. Joe an understanding of what makes an event work and, more importantly, what makes an experience memorable.
Because for Mr. Joe, the balloon isn’t really the point. The memory is.
Yes, the balloon should be cool. Sometimes it should be completely unexpected. And hearing someone say, “I’ve never seen a balloon like that before,” never gets old.
But the best part is what happens next.
It’s the smile that develops as a handful of balloons begins turning into something recognizable. It’s the excitement of receiving something made specifically for you. It’s showing it off, taking the picture, telling someone about it later and remembering how you felt in that moment.
The balloon may not last forever. The memory will.
That’s what Mr. Joe wants to create at every event: something cool, something unexpected and a moment people remember long after the balloons are gone.
From that very first balloon dog to creations that can fill an entire room, the mission has remained remarkably simple:
Twist something unexpected. Watch the smiles develop. Create memories that last a lifetime.
That’s Mr. Joe the Balloon Guy.
